7/20/22: Just before 1:00 PM, the New Haven Fire Department began receiving calls about a fire in the area of Grand Avenue and Clinton Avenue. Engine 10 arrived on scene and had smoke from the rear of the vacant Strong School. A working fire was then transmitted for fire inside the school. After searching the building, companies found a small fire which they were able to contain with a can. A second alarm was transmitted because of the heat conditions and for firefighter safety.
