4/17/23: Just before 2:00 AM, the New Haven Fire Department began receiving calls for a building fire on the corner of Dixwell Avenue and Basset Street. Engine arrived on scene and transmitted the working fire (Signal 73) for heavy fire in a mixed occupancy. A second alarm (Signal 22) was transmitted shortly after due to the volume of fire. Companies had fire on all three floors and it would take a few hours to bring the blaze under control. This fire would end up going to a third alarm (Signal 23).
